Synth-happy gang of five (and then four)
with a penchant for sub-three minute pop
gems.
Cosily ensconced in their rehearsal rooms
on top of the Cambridge town hall, Inspector
Moog put the roll in rock
n roll, preferring to
eschew practise in favour of eating sandwiches
and relaxing.
They accompanied their numerous but infrequent
gigs with the release of the album Wait!
in 1999, which was nominated for Best
Independent Release at New Zealands
B-net awards the same year. They had airplay
on nationwide B-net stations for songs including
Lay Beside, Turn My Way and Not Bryan Adams.
The song 'Milk Biscuit Boy' was featured
on the soundtrack to 'The
Locals' (2003), a cult zombie horror
film directed by Greg
Page. The soundtrack was released on
Mushroom Records in New Zealand and also
features The Datsuns and The D4.
Inspector Moog played their final blinding
gig at the close of 1999, a night they would
never forget if only they could remember
anything about it at all.
Original lineup: Rob Talsma (guitar, vocals),
Louisa Soanes (bass, vocals), Dave Anderson
(drums), Grant Brodie (keyboards), Sarah
Ferguson (guitar, vocals).
